Three Sault Girls Participate in the 2012 Nepean Ringette Tournament for the Valley East U16 Provincial A Team
Submitted By dhiggs on Tuesday, November 20, 2012
Three girls from the Sault travelled to Ottawa this past weekend (Nov. 16-18)  as members of the Valley East U16 Provincial A Team to play in the Annual 2012 Nepean Ringette Tournament. Katelyn Desgagne, Kathleen Higgs and Kaylin Paquette are all members of the Valley East Provincial team.

The team had a great showing winning 2 games and losing 2, ending up in 3rd place. The team lost their first game 5-3 against GRCA, who ended up winning the gold medal. They went on to win the next 2 games against Nepean (8-2) and Ottawa B (2-0). The final game against Ottawa G was a close game with the winner advancing to the finals. The girls got off to a good start scoring the first goal early. Ottawa then scored the next 2 goals. In the final minute coach Luc Delarosbil pulled the goalie to try and tie the game. Ottawa G ended up scoring an empty netter to win the game 3-1 and advancing to the gold medal game against GRCA.

Great Job Girls!!!
