Farewell and Best Wishes To The U19 Ice Hawks
Submitted By Steve Bell on Wednesday, April 1, 2015
On Sunday
morning, the Sault Ice Hawks U19 Ringette Tournament Team dropped a heart
breaking 3 to 2 decision to Valley East in the Final of the Northeast Regional
Ringette Championships held in Sault Ste. Marie. The Silver Medal was the third
medal that the team has captured in four tournaments this year.
As always, the Ice Hawks played with grit, passion and determination. Their commitment to each other has been very admirable over the past several years. Many players on the team have played together for the past eight years in total. Over that span, the Ice Hawks have captured medals in 14 tournaments.
But success did not come easy for the team. In the early years, they were very inexperienced, and were on the losing end in many games. They were often excited just to score a goal in a tournament. Through it all, they remained focused, and became more than a team, they became a close knit family.
Due to the commitment showed by the team, and their parents, improvement came over time. Indeed, it has been exciting for the coaches, managers, and parents to see them become the wonderful team they are today.
We would like to wish all of our players all the best in the coming years. As you go off to post-secondary pursuits, please keep the special memories of our time together as a team. You are all winners, role models, and leaders in our books. We will miss you all very much!
For those returning to Sault Ringette next year, we hope to continue the legacy of this great team. One-Two, go Sault!
