ICE HAWKS START THE SEASON IN OSHAWA!
Submitted By SRC on Thursday, November 8, 2018
The tournament season started last weekend with 3 Ice Hawks teams
travelling to Oshawa for competition. Our U12P, U16A and U19A teams all
competed hard through the round robin portion of their schedules with a
combined record of 3-6-3 playing against teams that are well into their
seasons.
Many on our U12P team were introduced to the higher Provincial level of play over the weekend and, although they found the game much faster and more physical than Regional play, skated and competed for 4 solid games, coming away with 1 win and 3 losses. The weekend also provided the U16A Ice Hawks the opportunity to gel with 2 new roster players and the team came away with a record of 1-2-1, picking up an important 3 points toward season rankings. With a record of 1-1-2, the U19A Ice Hawks picked-up 4 points with their eyes squarely set on competing at this season’s Provincial Championships.
Outside of tournament play, a break between games on Saturday allowed players from all 3 teams to form groups incorporating all ages to test their teamwork and problem solving skills at Oshawa Escape Rooms!
