Submitted By Kerry Young on Wednesday, January 15, 2020
The Sault U14A Ice Hawks Ringette Team ride solid goal tending and a total team effort to win the Gold Medal at the Waterloo Winterfest Ringette Tournament.

This past weekend the Ice Hawks went through the 8 team Round Robin with a record of 3-1-0 securing victories over Waterloo (4-0), West Ottawa (5-0), Nepean (2-0) while losing a close game to Metcalfe (2-3).  In the semifinal round, the Ice Hawks faced Nepean (3-1-0) in their second meeting of the weekend, this time wining 3-1.  The finals set up a Re-Match with the Sault Ice Hawks facing the undefeated Metcalfe Hornets (4-0-0).

After a slow start, the Sault scores first and rides that momentum to a 3-1 victory and the gold medal as tournament champions.
