Bunny Bandana Day 2019-2020
Congratulations to our U6 and U8 players! The Sault Ringette Club acknowledges ringette skill development through the end of season Bandana Day awards!
The different bandana colours signify specific skating and ringette skills that our club strives to teach to our young ringette players, which progresses over each players first 2-3 years in ringette.
Skating skills: basic stance and proper stick hold, falling and getting back up, gliding on skates, forward/backward skating, snow plow and parallel stopping, turning on one side and both sides.
Ringette skills: knowing the basic rules, knowing the role of the 4 positions (goalie, defence, forward and centre), forehand and backhand passing, receiving/stabbing the ring, shooting the ring in the net from various distances, hitting a target in the net, lifting the ring into the net.
Game and team building skills: explaining a goal, holding and using a goalie stick, knowing my team name and team cheer, using my “ringette voice” to communicate with teammates and to call for a pass.
Thanks and enjoy your off-season,
Debbie
