All Ringette Parents and Players


We would like to inform parents and players of the proper head gear (helmets) and best practices for selecting, inspecting and fitting helmets, to help prevent head injuries and concussions.


  1. Helmets MUST have a CSA sticker certifying the helmet for play in Canada.
  2. Use of concussion or impact helmets is recommended.
  3. Most CSA approved helmets do have expiry dates. Please ensure the helmet has not passed the expiry date, especially for older helmets.
  4. It is also commended that all helmets are inspected for cracks, wear and tear of the straps, and hardening or wear of the foam inside the helmet (especially older helmets). 
  5.  An internal or bite type mouth guard is also recommended.                                                                                                For a custom mouth guards fitted locally you can contact Julie Premo here . See poster below
  6. Please ensure helmets and cages are the proper size and adjusted to fit correctly. There are a number of websites and documents for properly fitting hockey and Ringette helmets. Here are a few:
