Announcing the 1st Annual SRC Snowflake Tournament - A Fun Way to Kick Off the Holiday Season for our House League Teams!

The Sault Ringette Club is excited to announce the 1st Annual SRC Snowflake Tournament! This tournament is designed to bring excitement to our house league program and provide a tournament style experience for our players before we take a break for the holidays. It's the perfect opportunity to invite family and friends to cheer on our players and celebrate the season together!

For the past few years, our FUN1 & FUN2 groups have enjoyed our Skate with Santa event, which will still be happening December 21st.  This year, we want to offer something extra for our older house league divisions. The SRC Snowflake Tournament is our way of bringing everyone together to create lasting memories and strengthen the spirit of teamwork and community.

Tournament Details

The tournament will take place across multiple days over the month of December, featuring various divisions and exciting matchups. We’ll be running the event like a traditional tournament, including all the thrills and competition that make tournaments so special! Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:

FUN3 Division: Players will take the spotlight on the ice with coaches staying on the bench during the games. This will be the transition for this group to this style of coaching. FUN3 will not have semi-finals, and the top two teams will move straight to the final.

U12 & U14 Divisions: These teams will have a semi-final game. The top team will automatically move to the final, and the winner of the semi-final will join them.

Following each game, coaches will hand out awards to players for:

* House League Player of the Game- This award will go to a teammate who does not currently play on a competitive travel team who demonstrates hard work and good sportsmanship during the game

* Early Bird Award: This award will go to the first player on the team to be ready and dressed for the game!

* Character Award: This award will go to a teammate who demonstrates a positive character trait on the ice throughout the game determined by the team coaches.

Games Schedule

The tournament will run over five ice time over two weeks. The full schedule is available on the club calendar and that is the best place to refer to for the most up to date information.

FUN3 Snowflake Tournament Dates: December 15, 17, 18,21 & 23

U12 Snowflake Tournament Dates: December 15, 16, 18, 21 & 23

U14 Snowflake Tournament Dates: Dec 15, 17, 18, 21 and 23

A medal ceremony for the winning teams will follow the final game.

How to Get Involved

 We encourage everyone to mark their calendars, invite their friends and families, and come out to enjoy the fun and cheer for your teams. Take photos, share with your friends and families and let’s show everyone how much fun it is to play ringette.
